Common Digital/HD Video issues

  • Signal Loss/Intermittent Connection
    • Get the error message
    • Check the physical connection. Cable from the wall jack [coaxial cable] to the receiver, cable from the receiver to the TV
              [through HDMI, composite, component, S Video or coaxial cable]. Make sure that the cables are secured.
    • Reseat the coaxial cable
    • Reseat the cable from the receiver and from the television
    • Powercycle the receiver
  • Missing Channels
    • Get the error message
    • Make Sure that the channels worked before and it's included in the programming package
    • Turn off/on the power of the receiver through the power button
    • Unplug the power cord, wait for 15 to 20 seconds then plug back the power cord to the power outlet
    • Do channel scan through the receiver's remote control.
  • Blue, Black None, Grainy, Snowy or Fuzzy reception on all channels
    • Make sure that the receiver is directly connected to the television and the receiver is getting a good source of power.
    • Tune the TV to a video input source. If no video, continue cycling through remaining TV video input sources.
               Depends on the brand of the television.
    • Power OFF the receiver and unplug the receiver from the electrical outlet. Wait 15 seconds, plug the receiver back into the electrical
               outlet and power the receiver ON.
    • If the receiver is connected to the tv using a Coaxial cable
               - Check if the coax cable is connected hand tight from the receiver TV2 CH 21-69 OUT to the TV ANT or RF input.
               - If the television has multiple TV ANT or RF inputs verify that the TV is on the proper one, for example ANT A or ANT B.
               - Unplug then reinsert the cable.
    • if the receiver is connected to the tv using a RCA cable
               - Verify the yellow RCA cable is connected from the receiver TV2 VIDEO output to the TV Video input.
               - Unplug/re-plug the cable.
               - If the problem still exist, make sure that there is good cable connection between the receiver and the TV.
               - If the connections are good, try using another cable(if possible)
    • if the receiver is connected to the tv using a S-Video cable
               - Verify if the S-Video cable is connected from the receiver TV2 S VIDEO output to the TV S Video input.
               - Unplug/re-plug the cable. Note: Receiver's with model# 322, 522 and 942 does not have a TV2 S-Video cable output.
               - If there is a yellow RCA cable connected between the receiver and the TV, disconnect the RCA cable.
               - The TV may not allow S-Video and Composite Video at the same time.
               - If the problem still exist, make sure that there is good cable connection between the receiver and the TV.
               - If the connections are good, try using another cable(if possible)
  • ERROR: Info not available
    • Press and Hold the power button of the receiver for 5 seconds.
    • Wait for the receiver to reset and power on by itself.
    • Place the receiver in standby mode by turning the receiver off from the front panel power button.
    • Unplug the power cord from the receiver and from the power outlet and wait for 15 to 20 seconds
    • Plug the power cord back and turn on the receiver
